Hello everyone. If you're reading this, you probably already heard at some point that I wanted to start a blog. If you're reading this it also means I finally did it! If you're reading this in its current state, this website looks incredibly ugly. I'm planning to fix that relatively soon, but bear with me until I do.
The purpose:
I sometimes have a lot of thoughts about things that I would like to get out, mostly as a creative or mental exercise. I thought it would be nice to post some here for other people to read when I feel like it. I just wanted my own space to post these things, that I can eventually customise fully to my liking and host on my own little website. If any of my friends are interested in whatever random thing I end up thinking a lot about at any given time, you'll be able to read all about it here. I'd always be down to talk about any of the posts I make here, so if you feel like it please feel free to message me about any of them at any time.
What to expect:
I have absolutely no idea how often I'll post here. I currently have a few post ideas that I don't know if I'll finish, and this should launch with one or two other posts than this one. It might be a post every few months, sometimes I might crank out a bunch in a week or so. It'll really just depend on when I feel inspired, I won't put pressure on myself to post at any volume. In terms of what I'll actually post, it'll probably mostly be my opinions on media (books, albums, films, TV shows etc.) or discussions on wider society or politics, either commenting on discourse I've seen or something interesting which I can analyse, or just some thoughts I want to collect and get out there about some political or social issue. I will probably also include some personal stuff (probably not too personal), so there might be some stuff about my life intermittently. Honestly, I'll just post whatever I feel like so there might be some surprises. Posts might be really tiny (like this one) or really long (like a political one I have mostly written that I may or may not actually post)
Questions:
For anyone who wants to read these posts, I have a couple of things that I'm curious about. Feel free to answer all, some or none of these.
- Do you want notifications for these?
- If so, what would be best: a discord server, email notifications, something else?
- Are there any specific things/types of things you'd like me to talk about? I would take requests if I was interested enough.
- Do you have any ideas for this website? I have plenty of my own but if you have any I'd be curious
- Should I make a place to discuss my posts (a discord server or whatever) or would DM's for any discussions suffice? (I don't want to make it seem obligatory as it's not really the point)
- How are you doing today? If nobody has asked you, I just want you to know that I care and I'm curious
